Those of us in the elevator industry are very familiar with the annual National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Convention. For us it's the Superbowl of industry knowledge that culminates in a showcase of the very best in expert-lead educational sessions, cutting-edge technology and networking with our peers across the country and around the world. This year we took full advantage as it was held September 28th - October 1st in our backyard - McCormick Place, Chicago.
The NAEC organization believes that better decisions are made through the sharing of diverse knowledge and insights. As stated on their website "When professionals come together to exchange expertise, it empowers smarter strategies and more effective solutions." They also firmly believe in education of their members and are committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities led by industry experts.
The educational sessions at this year's show highlighted topics from AI and saftey to code updates and evolving technology.
Another component of the NAEC is the fostering of strong companie, whether by leading teams, creating strategies, or enhancing services. The stronger the companies that make up the organization, the more successful the industry becomes as a whole. Along with its members, the NAEC is committed to building a stronger future for the vertical transportation industry.
The expo itself features cutting-edge technology, equipment, and solutions from our industry's top manufacturers and service providers. Attendees include contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other industry leaders. We registered all our employess to walk the show and take full advantage of everything it has to offer.
All Colley Elevator employees were registered to attend this year's expo and several groups could be spotted taking in all the informational activities they could.
Supposedely unrealated to all the talk about robots in elevators, one vendor used a dancing one to attract visitors.
Being a Chicagoland company we're a little biased, but we think our vendor partner Kings III should take home an award for the best booth.
Of course no mention of the NAEC show would be complete without the annual Ellie Awards. Presented annually at the show by Elevator World, Inc, we're proud to announce that we've won it a sixth time in the 'Best Contractor - North' category. Past NAEC President and Colley Elevator Managing Partner Craig Zomchek states “Our entire team of professionals, from field mechanics to office staff, is the reason for our continued success. My sincerest gratitude is to them, our customers and industry partners.”
Members of the Colley team pose with our sixth Best Contractor - North Ellie Award.
Though we're sorry to see the show end, we had a great time exploring all it had to offer.
